> "A higher-level infrastructure layer for making the software universe
> understandable, trustworthy, and operable."

## Los tres ejes del Atlas

### 01 · Organize — Knowledge Layer
Every piece of software has an identity, a history, and a human context.
We map and connect them into one navigable graph.

Atlas stores **2 PB** of data and processes information from over
**250K files** every day. At that scale, the graph becomes a foundation for
curated software sets tailored to specific needs and markets: open-source
ecosystems, enterprise deployments, age-appropriate collections, and
structured catalogs for AI agents and autonomous systems.

### 02 · Trust — Cybersecurity Layer
Security signals, scans, provenance, developer context, and risk
classification. Readable by humans and machines.

Atlas holds over **30 million security reports** linked to software
identities, versions, developers, and distribution history. A single
scanner verdict only tells you so much: Atlas connects that data to where
software originates, how it moves across stores and mirrors, and who stands
behind it. Software cybersecurity from the outside in.

checks · Sandbox behavior · Policy conflicts*

### 03 · Execute — Operational Layer
Not just discovery. Installation, updates, compatibility, and rollback.

Running software requires more than finding it. Atlas knows which version
works on which system, how installation and updates behave, and through
which channels it can be obtained: store, package manager, CLI, direct
download, or API. The full operational picture, across platforms and
environments.

## El problema

**Software is abundant. Understanding it is not.**

Tens of millions of apps, packages, and builds. Scattered across stores,
registries, and repositories that don't talk to each other. Finding
software is easy. Knowing **what it does**, **whether it runs on your
system**, and **whether it can be trusted** is not.

- **Volume** — A scale that no single directory captures.
- **Fragmentation** — No shared coordinate system across platforms and registries.
- **Opacity** — Where it comes from, how it behaves, and whether it's safe — rarely documented.

## La base (Foundation)

**Built on twenty years of real distribution.**

This isn't a concept. Since 2002, we've been doing the work: distributing
files, tracking versions, scanning for security, curating editorial
context, and building direct relationships with the developers behind the
software.

> Uptodown distributes software. *Atlas Cosmo extends Uptodown's mission
> and makes the software universe navigable.*
